SolarEis system

Heating by ice is an alternative to geothermal wells and horizontal collectors which provides heating in winter and cooling in summer.

The SolarEis system combines five natural energy sources for heating and cooling in the most economical way: sun, air, earth, water and ice. Ice heating has been used since 2008, and SolarEis Poland, under the leadership of Damian Skoruppa, is spreading this solution on the Polish and European markets.

Operation diagram of heating by ice

The ice energy storage system works on the basis of a simple principle: heat from the atmosphere and the ground as well as solar energy are obtained and then stored at a low temperature level in the underground energy storage in water and ice. The heat pump collects heat from the energy storage through the exchanger or directly from air-solar collectors or a hybrid solution of E-PVT collectors and raises it to a higher temperature level, corresponding to the temperature of the building's heating circuit. Taking heat from the ice reservoir causes it to freeze. At the temperature of 0 ℃ water changes into iceand the crystallization energy is released. The amount of the energy released when freezing and taken in when melting is the same as if we wanted to heat water from 0℃ to 80℃ and vice versa. The SolarEis concept is therefore a unique and climate-neutral heat and cold storage system. With SolarEis, the climate in the building will always be optimal throughout the year.
